Job summary

Military Deli & Bakery Services is hiring an Assistant Manager (part-time) to support the Deli/Bakery department at one of our 103 US Military Commissary locations. You will help lead 5–10 staff, ensure excellent customer service, and uphold food safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires open availability, weekend work, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Training and scheduling are part of daily duties, with growth opportunities within MDBS.

Qualifications

• / 2+ years grocery or 2+ years food service experience.
• / Previous shift lead/management experience mandatory.
• / Open availability, must be able to work some weekends and closing shifts.
• / Must have a valid Food Safety Management Certification or obtain within 30 days from hire date.

Responsibilities

• Assist Deli/Bakery Manager in directing and managing 5-10 employees.
• Maintain high levels of customer service and profitability while meeting commissary requirements.
• Oversee and enforce Food Safety and Sanitation policies.
• Manage inventories by tracking weekly reports and ordering raw materials.
• Schedule, train employees and delegate work assignments.
