Job summary

Military Deli & Bakery Services is seeking a part-time Deli Bakery Associate to serve our nation’s military personnel and families at a US Military Commissary location. The role focuses on friendly customer service, deli slicing, tray prep, and display stocking in a fast-paced environment.

Applicants should be 18+, willing to cross-train, and capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. Prior grocery/food service experience is a plus, with opportunities for growth within MDBS.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Willing to cross-train in bakery and deli tasks.
• Effective and friendly communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math and ability to follow written guidelines.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation.
• Ability to stand and walk short distances for an entire shift.
• Team player.
• Grocery, food service or retail experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Slices deli meats and cheeses to customer’s request.
• Prepares custom party trays and makes sandwiches accordingly.
• Stock and organize displays, to include helping with shipments as needed.
• Ensure proper sanitation of the department, equipment, and proper food handling/preparation.
• Demonstrates the ability to work in fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations.
• Other duties may include cake decorating, baking, rotisserie chicken preparation, or other deli/bakery tasks as needed.
