Job summary

Military Deli & Bakery Services is seeking an Assistant Manager at one of our 103 US Military Commissary locations. You will lead a 5–10 person team in deli/bakery, ensure top customer service, food safety, and inventory management. Full-time with 30–40 hours weekly, with growth opportunities within MDBS.

Open to applicants; U.S. military affiliation not required. Must be able to work weekends and closing shifts in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years grocery or 2+ years food service experience required.
• Shift lead/management experience mandatory.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Open availability including weekends and closing shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist Deli/Bakery Manager in directing and managing 5–10 employees.
• Maintain high levels of customer service and enforce safety policies.
• Oversee inventory, ordering, and weekly reports.
• Assist in scheduling, training, and delegation of work.
• Maintain accurate department records and support financial objectives.
• Promote teamwork and perform duties as needed.
