Performs custodial services for assigned recreational facilities and park(s).
- Unlocks and locks assigned city building(s) and parks per policies and procedures.
- Cleans assigned recreational facilities on daily basis (i.e. cleans restrooms, sweeps, mops floors, vacuums carpets, disposes of refuse) and performs other building cleaning functions (window cleaning, floor waxing and buffering, furniture polishing, carpet shampooing, etc).
- May assist in maintaining lawns, flower beds and parking areas and performs other outdoors maintenance work such as snow removal on sidewalks, painting, and safety checks around buildings.
- May clean and/or replace air filters and ceiling tiles, replace light bulbs, maintain supplies.
- May run errands, pick-up deliveries and set up rooms for meetings.
- May assist with training new employees on policies and procedures.
- Assists at department wide special events, oversees games, inflatables, crowd control, etc.
Minimum Education and Experience:- Ability to read and write and minimal experience in cleaning buildings (less than 6 months) required. At least 6 months related experience preferred. High school diploma or GED preferred.
Licenses and/or Certifications:Knowledge:- General knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies and equipment (to include power-run equipment)
Skills:- Organization and customer service skills
Abilities: - Physical ability to move furniture and operate light equipment
Work Environment:- Work is primarily performed indoors but is occasionally exposed to temperamental changes, extreme noise, odors, dust and to outdoors conditions.
