Job summary

The University of Notre Dame is hiring part-time Culinary Service Associates for the South and North Dining Halls within the Campus Dining department. This back-of-house role supports food production, cleaning, dish room operations, and general kitchen tasks to ensure smooth service for diners.

Responsibilities include maintaining clean serving lines, assisting with basic food prep, monitoring stock, operating kitchen equipment safely, and supporting dishwashing and inventory tasks.

Qualifications

• Capable of managing time effectively with minimal supervision.
• Positive, respectful and dependable with the schedule you create.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 6 hours).
• Ability to move around the cafe to attend to guests' needs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and visual appeal of serving lines and condiment stations.
• Assist with basic food prep like washing/cutting vegetables and assembling sandwiches.
• Monitor and replenish items on serving lines and alert cooks to low stock.
• Operate and maintain basic kitchen equipment safely (toasters, warmers, coffee machines).
• Clean and sanitize workstations, utensils, and equipment before/during/after shifts.
• Assist with dishwashing and proper storage of clean dishware.
• Support inventory by helping with receiving, rotating, and storing food and supplies.
