Job summary

Living Redemption Community Development Corporation is seeking two Part-Time ARCHES Credible Messengers for its Transformative Mentoring Intervention in Harlem. Mentors will run group and one-on-one sessions using Interactive Journaling, supporting youth on probation to pursue education and employment goals and reduce recidivism.

Ideal candidates show strong interpersonal and facilitation skills, are reliable, and committed to the local Harlem community.

Qualifications

• A full year commitment, at minimum.
• Commitment to serving youth and families in Harlem.
• Ability to follow guidance from Project Coordinator/Designee.
• Consistency in attendance and punctuality to group meetings.
• Commitment to the local target community.
• Passion to see life transformation in participants.
• Patience and understanding that the transformative process takes time.

Responsibilities

• Meet with participants and implement the Interactive Journaling curriculum at sites.
• Engage young adults outside of the formal curriculum time and through one-on-one meetings.
• Attend scheduled Mentor and IJ trainings.
• Educate and support youth and young adults on issues of public safety.
• Additional relevant tasks, as required and as necessary.
• This position reports to the Project Coordinator or Project Coordinator Designee as directed.
