Job summary

CAMBA is seeking a Credible Mentor to support Project Restore Brownsville participants in the NYC area. The role involves mentorship, collaboration with staff, and community engagement to reduce violence and promote positive decision-making.

Part-time position with required in-person contact and adherence to program protocols. Compensation details reflect an hourly rate with benefits as described in the posting.

Qualifications

• Lived experience relevant to the population served.
• Mentoring or coaching experience with youth.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to document work accurately and timely.
• Ability to follow supervision and program protocols.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent mentorship and support to Project Restore Brownsville participants.
• Use lived experience and community knowledge to support accountability.
• Coordinate closely with program staff to meet participant needs.
• Maintain regular in-person contact with participants.
• Assist in de-escalation and violence interruption efforts.
• Collaborate with Case Managers, Peer Advocates, and clinical staff.
• Attend supervision, team meetings, and training sessions.
• Document participant interactions and observations timely.
• Support outreach and re-engagement for disengaged participants.
• Reinforce program expectations and boundaries.
• Serve as a positive role model with professionalism.
• Align Project Restore with BIVO activities for continuity.
