Job summary

Clarity Recruiting seeks a Credible Messenger / Mentor Advocate to support youth and young adults in the Bronx, NY. The role focuses on individualized mentoring, advocacy, and case management for ages 13–25, drawing on lived experience and strong community ties.

Responsibilities include intake, home visits, group facilitation, and coordination with staff to set goals, track progress, and connect participants with education, housing, employment, and other services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Lived experience and knowledge of the communities affected by violence is valued.
• Experience in mentoring, case management, youth development, outreach, or community-based services.
• Strong engagement, communication, conflict-resolution, documentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to lead groups and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to conduct home/community visits and work flexible schedules.

Responsibilities

• Manage a small caseload of approximately 7–8 participants, providing individualized mentoring and consistent support.
• Conduct intake, assessments, home visits, family engagement, and community-based outreach.
• Help participants address barriers related to education, employment, housing, family stability, and other supportive services.
• Lead and co-facilitate groups, life-skills activities, mentoring sessions, and restorative practices.
• Promote positive decision-making, accountability, conflict resolution, and alternatives to violence.
• Coordinate referrals, follow up with participants, and re-engage individuals who miss programming.
• Collaborate with program staff on case management, service planning, and participant goals.
• Maintain accurate case notes, attendance records, referrals, and other required documentation.
