Job summary

CorrHealth seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) to support inmate care under RN supervision in the correctional health unit. You will perform nursing assessments, plan and evaluate care, and guide inmate education and activities.

Responsibilities include medication administration (IV therapy if certified), assisting procedures, triage, specimen collection, and maintaining compliant charting and safety practices. Current LPN/LVN license and CPR/BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited LPN/LVN program.
• Current LPN/LVN license in the state of employment.
• CPR/BLS certification and TB test current as required by policy.

Responsibilities

• Under RN supervision, assist in assessment of inmates' physical, psychological, and social needs.
• Assist in planning and implementing individual treatment plans and inmate teaching.
• Administer medications per protocol, including IV therapy when certified.
• Assist with evaluations, procedures, and minor surgeries as needed with SOAP charting.
• Obtain specimens and perform EKGs using proper techniques.
• Maintain documentation of controlled substances and medical equipment.
• Triaging and addressing healthcare requests.
• Ensure nutrition and therapeutic diets as ordered by the provider.
