Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care in a correctional setting, ensuring security and clinical quality. The RN will conduct physical assessments, assist physicians, administer medications, and document care in a structured environment.

Responsibilities include supervising LPN staff, coordinating Chronic Disease Clinic scheduling, and maintaining confidentiality of records while complying with facility policies and accreditation standards.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Must hold a current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the state of the facility.
• Two years of direct RN experience preferred.
• Ability to perform crisis intervention, medical emergencies, physical assessments, and psychiatric nursing care.
• Proficient with computer systems and healthcare software.

Responsibilities

• The RN initiates and provides comprehensive nursing care in a correctional setting while observing and maintaining security requirements.
• Performs complete physical assessments and medical histories for detainees entering the facility, with physician follow-up as needed.
• Assists physicians with sick calls and minor procedures; treats detainees within scope and refers other issues as appropriate.
• Ensures physician orders are implemented and medications are administered as prescribed.
• Maintains progress notes, documents detainee contacts, and reports problems to management.
