The GEO Group is a global leader in evidenced based rehabilitation, employing Registered Nurses to deliver comprehensive nursing care in correctional settings. You will conduct physical assessments, support physicians, and ensure medication administration aligns with treatment plans.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will monitor patient conditions, document care, and maintain security while safeguarding confidentiality and compliance with accreditation standards.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an approved program.
• Current, unrestricted RN license in North Carolina.
• Two years of direct RN experience preferred.
• Ability to work with computers and nursing software.

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse initiates and provides comprehensive nursing care in a correctional setting while observing and maintaining the requirements of operational security.
• Performs a complete physical assessment and medical history on new detainees/inmates and refers issues to physicians as needed.
• Assists physician with sick calls, screens patients, and performs minor procedures within scope of practice.
• Maintains medication administration accuracy, follows formulary, and dispenses medications accordingly.
• Maintains observation rounds, records progress notes, and reports problems to management.
