Job summary

Virginia Department of Corrections seeks Licensed Practical Nurse (Part-time) at Lawrenceville Correctional Center. Position is wage-based with up to 1,500 hours per year and a cap of 29 hours weekly, no state benefits. Wage: $37.00/hour.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Must hold valid Virginia LPN license or multi-state compact license.
• Knowledge of general/practical nursing care principles and techniques.
• Ability to document accurately and follow providers' orders.
• BLS certification required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based nursing care under RN supervision.
• Screen sick calls, administer medications, and provide first aid.
• Maintain medical records and coordinate with security/treatment staff.
• Be flexible to cover up to 1,500 hours per year and 29 hrs/week on average.
