Lone Star College-System Office, University Park, seeks a Part-Time Coordinator II in the OGAC (Office of Governance, Accountability and Compliance) to support day-to-day and some longer-term operations. Responsibilities

  • Performs research relevant to the area of specialty, develops, monitors, and maintains spreadsheets, databases, reports, and presents findings to internal constituents (may include LSCS Managers/Executives and vendors).
  • Monitors and controls resources such as office supplies and equipment needed within the departments, submits requisitions, and reviews and approves/denies purchase requests in accordance with the budget, policy, procedures, and business processes.
  • Manages or assists with management of departments' budgets and expenditures, including expense tracking and reconciliation.
  • Coordinates daily operations of assigned area. Maintain records. Maintains current knowledge base of assigned area and acts as a point of contact for internal and external customers.
  • Creates and submits a variety of reports related to assigned area and presents findings. May make presentations to both internal and external customers.
  • Assists with creating methods of evaluation of assigned area. Analyzes results and makes recommendations for revisions to objectives and strategies.
  • May be responsible for ensuring and maintaining compliance with local/state/federal compliance of processes and documentation within assigned area.
  • Coordinate various departments and leadership calendars and schedules. Plan, schedule, and coordinate various meetings/seminars/events, including site selection and preparation, marketing and training materials, and general support.
  • Create and update workflows, job aids, and business processes relevant to the area of specialty. Maintains a cycle of proper records management.
  • Takes part in and/or takes lead on special projects as needed.
  • Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned

Job Description
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The PT Coordinator II, Office of Governance, Accountability and Compliance (OGAC) facilitates day-to-day and some long-term operations within a large and/or System-wide area of specialty, playing a strong role in leading and planning, development, evaluation, and improvement. Assigned area and responsibilities will be extensive. May be responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient operations as well as compliance with policies, procedures, and a variety of local, state, and federal regulations. Coordinates logistics, services, and support surrounding the budget planning process and for tracking and coordinating budget expenditures. Makes and communicates process decisions based on best practices.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Strong attention to accuracy and detail

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:
  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment

  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position

  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards

  • Associate degree or higher and at least 3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Salary

Hourly Pay Rate is $20.70
