Job summary

The Chelsea Jewish Life Communities are seeking a part-time Cook at the Leonard Florence Center for Living to prepare meals and support resident care. This position offers weekend or PRN placements with hourly pay of $21.00–$22.00 based on experience.

Responsibilities include following menus and dietary guidelines, ensuring food safety, collaborating with the dietitian and care team, and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen to support excellent resident nutrition and comfort.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 1+ year experience as a Cook in a commercial setting is preferred.
• Prior experience in a long-term care or hospital setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus, therapeutic diet requirements, and approved food safety and sanitation standards, including alternative meal selections when needed.
• Review menus before food preparation, ensure ingredients and supplies are available for upcoming meals, and help maintain a clean, organized food storage area.
• Follow all safety regulations, infection control practices, and sanitary procedures throughout food preparation and kitchen operations.
• Collaborate with the dietitian and interdisciplinary team, including CNAs, to implement dietary recommendations and support quality resident care.
