Job summary

Leonard Florence Center for Living in Chelsea, MA is seeking a Cook for part-time weekend or PRN shifts. The role pays $21.00–$22.00/hour, depending on experience, with benefits available. You will prepare meals per planned menus, support dietary requests, and maintain safety and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1+ year experience as a Cook in a commercial setting.
• Prior experience in a long-term care or hospital setting preferred.
• Ability to function both independently and as a team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate fluently in English – both verbally and written.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus, therapeutic diet requirements, and approved food safety and sanitation standards, including alternative meal selections when needed.
• Review menus before food preparation, ensure ingredients and supplies are available for upcoming meals, and help maintain a clean, organized food storage area.
• Follow all safety regulations, infection control practices, and sanitary procedures throughout food preparation and kitchen operations.
• Collaborate with the dietitian and interdisciplinary team, including CNAs, to implement dietary recommendations and support quality resident care.
