Job summary

The University of Notre Dame is hiring a part-time Cook 3 in our campus Hospitality department within Three Leaf Catering. You will independently execute complex dishes, manage stations, and mentor junior cooks while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

This role offers a hands-on kitchen environment on campus with flexible hours. Pay rate is $19.50 per hour, and you will contribute to the University’s mission by delivering excellent service to students, staff, and events.

Qualifications

• Capable of standing for extended periods (up to 6 hours).
• Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
• Strong communication and listening skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Commitment to food safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Execute advanced culinary techniques across stations, including butchery, sauces, and grilling.
• Lead or supervise junior cooks during service, ensuring consistency and efficiency.
• Assist the Sous Chef with recipe testing, prep lists, and production schedules.
• Maintain health codes compliance and high standards of cleanliness and food safety.
• Participate in daily briefings and contribute feedback to improve workflow.
