Job summary

Horner & Shifrin is seeking a part-time Construction Engineer or Construction Administrator to support our Construction Services team. The role requires 3+ years of experience and involves inspecting bridges, roadways, and utilities to ensure compliance with plans and client procedures.

The position emphasizes field reporting, coordination with the Construction Management team, and preparing pay estimates and notes for change orders. A valid driver’s license and background check are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in construction inspection/administration.
• Knowledge of contract plans, specifications, and client policies/procedures.
• Proficient in MS Office applications and basic field reporting.

Responsibilities

• Inspect bridges, roadways, sewer, and treatment facilities for contract compliance.
• Inform manager of observed problems and issues.
• Communicate with the Construction Management team to address questions.
• Inspect earthwork, traffic control, erosion control, utilities, and paving.
• Record construction quantities for payment using required forms.
