HBC Engineering Company is seeking a Construction Inspector - Project Administrator to support transportation and civil infrastructure construction engineering and inspection assignments. The role emphasizes field coordination, documentation, quantity verification, and daily communication with contractors, clients, and project teams.

Formación

• Civil engineering degree with 2 years' engineering experience on major road/bridge projects
• Master's degree may substitute for 1 year of engineering experience
• Proven project and client management skills
• Proficient with iPad, MS Office, Outlook, Dropbox, SiteManager, MAC and/or OneDrive
• Strong interpersonal, coordination, and communication skills
• Ability to walk over rough terrain and work outside in various weather conditions
• Valid driver's license with good driving record
• FDOT certifications (preferred) such as CTQP levels

Responsabilidades

• Prepare construction inspection summaries of daily activities
• Review drawings, specs, and contract docs for constructability
• Review records of contractor operations including manpower, equipment, methods
• Track and measure completed work quantities for payment
• Manage inspectors, coordinate schedules and records
• Monitor traffic control and erosion control plans for issues
• Oversee sampling and testing of materials and work
• Verify dimensions and calculations of completed work
• Interface with project managers, contractors, and inspection staff daily
• Maintain project records per FDOT procedures
• Direct and assign tasks to inspectors across phases
• Assist in change orders and document control (RFIs, submittals)
• Prepare schedules and cost estimates; monitor schedule/budget
• Read plans and solve construction problems in field
• Test and document contractor work quality
