Job summary

Compost Crew A Benefit Corporation in Maryland is seeking a part-time Environmental Technician to support composting operations at our Frederick site. This 25-hour-per-week role runs roughly 12-5 p.m. Monday through Friday, with starting pay at $19-$20 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent required.
• U.S.-issued driver's license in good standing; clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 55 pounds up to 50 times per day.
• Available to work 12-5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
• DOT medical card and ability to pass drug/alcohol test (company pays for exam).

Responsibilities

• Support the composting process by monitoring temperature and moisture; adjust as directed.
• Learn to operate composting machinery and perform basic preventive maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, organized site and complete operational records per procedures and State rules.
• Perform daily decontamination of food scrap feedstocks from routes.
• Follow safety procedures and report hazards or equipment concerns.
• Assist with site improvement projects and other composting tasks as assigned.
• Communicate site conditions and updates to supervisors.
