Job summary

Compost Crew, Inc. is hiring an Environmental Technician to support composting operations in Maryland. You will help process food scraps into high-quality soil amendment, learn to operate farm equipment and commercial vehicles, and contribute to a sustainability-focused mission.

This is a full-time on-site role with at least 30 hours per week and comprehensive benefits. Starting pay ranges from $19.00 to $20.00 per hour, with opportunities to grow as you gain experience and certifications.

Qualifications

• Proficient in English (reading and writing).
• Ability to lift up to 55 pounds.
• Willingness to learn operate industrial equipment and vehicles.
• Safety-focused mindset and strong attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google apps.

Responsibilities

• Perform weekly composting operations following SOPs.
• Set up and break down facilities and complete decontamination.
• Monitor and mix feedstocks with temperature, moisture, and density targets.
• Operate equipment such as skid-steer, FEL, sifter and conveyors.
• Maintain operation metrics and assist with composting tasks at multiple sites.
