Job summary

Compost Queen PBC, an award-winning public benefit corporation in Fort Collins, seeks part-time Compost Technicians. You will manage a fixed route, collect food scraps, and help process compost at partner farms, driving a light utility truck. Outdoor work requires reliability and a commitment to sustainability.

Start dates: Oct 26–Nov 2, 2026. Training covers 2–6 routes at $16/hr, rising to $16.50/hr after training, and up to $18/hr for tractor-certified staff.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift 50–75 pounds repeatedly.
• Available up to five weekdays, primarily Monday & Tuesday (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Drive an electric service route for residential accounts (6–8 hours per shift).
• Collect, weigh, and record food waste buckets.
• Safely unload materials at local farm processing sites.
• Assist with compost processing and quality control.
• Engage politely with customers and community members.
