Job summary

Vincennes University is seeking a VU Student Mentor to provide guidance and support to high school sophomores and juniors in the VU Mentorship Program. As a mentor, you will complete training, conduct mentoring sessions, and help students explore academic and career paths. This role requires strong communication skills and a commitment for the full academic year. This is a part-time position with a pay rate of $12.5 per hour, and mileage is reimbursed for travel to local high schools.

• Willingness to travel to local high schools (mileage reimbursed).

Responsibilities

• Complete PREPP Approach mentor training and refresher sessions.
• Build positive, supportive relationships with assigned mentees.
• Conduct monthly mentoring sessions at partner high schools.
• Guide mentees through PREPP stages: Plan, Research, Evaluate, Prepare, Place.
• Support students in identifying academic, career, and postsecondary goals.
• Attend scheduled mentor check-ins and feedback sessions.
