Job summary

Western Nevada College in Fallon seeks qualified instructors to teach assigned courses, prepare syllabi and outlines, and manage lab setups and inventory for each class.

This part-time, temporary/seasonal position fills from an applicant pool as vacancies occur. A Bachelor’s degree in the discipline or related field is required; preferences include college teaching experience and Spanish fluency. Nationally, applicants must be eligible to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in the discipline or related field.
• Experience teaching college level courses (preferred).
• Experience with distance education or web teaching (preferred).
• Fluency in Spanish (preferred).
• Strong communication with faculty, staff and students (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses and be available to students during the contract period.
• Prepare course syllabi and outlines and related instructional materials.
• Set up lab supplies and arrange rooms before each class.
• Manage inventory and ordering of lab supplies.
• Maintain student records, attendance and grades.
• Administer student evaluations.
• Participate in orientation and faculty meetings as requested.
• Participate in student retention activities as requested.
• Promote college educational programs and services to the communities served by WNC.
