Western Nevada College in Fallon seeks qualified instructors to teach assigned courses, prepare syllabi and outlines, and manage lab setups and inventory for each class.

This part-time, temporary/seasonal position fills from an applicant pool as vacancies occur. A Bachelor’s degree in the discipline or related field is required; preferences include college teaching experience and Spanish fluency. Nationally, applicants must be eligible to work in the United States.

Job Description

This is a part-time, temporary/seasonal position. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis to establish an applicant pool. As vacancies occur, they are filled from the pool. This position is located on the Fallon campus.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Teach assigned courses and be available to students during the contract period
• Prepare course syllabi, course outlines (if necessary) and related instructional materials
• Manage set up of lab supplies and room arrangement prior to each class
• Manage inventory and ordering of lab supplies
• Maintain student records, including attendance and grades.
• Administer student evaluations
• Participate in orientation and faculty meetings as requested
• Participate in student retention activities as requested
• Promote college educational programs and services to the communities served by WNC

Minimum Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent in education or experience) from a regionally accredited college or university in the specified discipline or a closely related field

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience teaching college level courses
• Experience with distance education/web teaching modalities
• Fluency in Spanish
• Ability to communicate effectively with college faculty, staff and students
