Job summary

Ingham County Neighborhood Wellness Center (NWC) seeks a part-time Medical Assistant 1 to support clinical operations under supervision. You will assist providers with examinations, collect vital signs, prepare patients, and document encounters in the EHR, helping ensure smooth patient flow.

Responsibilities include coordinating referrals, assisting with CLIA tests, and maintaining HIPAA-compliant records while welcoming diverse patients and adapting to varying workloads.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program with CMS Meaningful Use credentialing.
• Current CPR certification maintained during employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with medical examinations and procedures to support efficient patient flow.
• Prepare patients, take vital signs, and document in the EHR.
• Check insurance eligibility and refer to enrollment assistance as needed.
• Administer CLIA waived tests and assist in data entry within EHR.
