Job summary

Newaygo County Mental Health is seeking a dedicated Part-time Medical Assistant to join our community clinic and front desk team. You will support patient flow, assist clinicians, and handle vital sign collection and documentation to ensure accurate records and a smooth clinic operation.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, plus a valid Michigan driver's license.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent.
Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
Valid Michigan Driver’s License.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
Previous healthcare/mental health experience preferred but not required.
Understanding of psychiatric and SUD services and recovery philosophy preferred.

Responsibilities

Escort patients to examination and provider rooms; obtain and record vital signs and update medical records.
Document patient information, including medical history and medications.
Adhere to privacy and confidentiality regulations.
Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure a cohesive patient experience.
Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
