Job summary

Northshore Health Centers is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers in ambulatory care settings. You will perform essential clinical tasks, document patient information in the EHR, and assist with examinations and minor procedures while maintaining sterile technique and adhering to CLIA standards.

The role emphasizes patient education, immunizations, and timely communication of lab results within the Indiana CHIRP system.

Qualifications

• Minimum required education per state of Indiana/HRSA Certified/Registered Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, Advanced Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse licensing.
• Two years of experiencepreferred in healthcare setting (optional from text)
• Phlebotomy experience noted as required or preferred (from text)

Responsibilities

• Perform ancillary tasks and document results in patient’s EHR chart.
• Screen patients for chief complaint, medical history and allergies; document information.
• Assist provider during examinations and minor procedures; ensure sterile techniques.
• Complete laboratory requisitions and perform in-house testing per CLIA standards.
• Record vaccination information in Indiana CHIRP database; communicate results to patients and coordinate follow-up as needed.
• Maintain inventory and sterilize instruments; adhere to infection control policies.
• Attend meetings and trainings; perform other duties as assigned by management.
