Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a part-time phlebotomist to perform venipuncture and specimen processing at client sites in New Lenox, IL and Merrillville, IN. Work 32 hours per week, Monday–Thursday 10am–5pm in New Lenox and Friday 9am–3pm in Merrillville.

The role emphasizes excellent patient service, adherence to policies, and teamwork to support clinical operations. Also involves order entry and clerical duties within lab processes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy certification through a nationally recognized org or related training or CMA certification.
• Experience with lab specimen processing and EMR systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and other lab specimen collections per age-related standards and policies.
• Enter orders and verify test results in multiple systems.
• Communicate with patients and healthcare teams to ensure safe, accurate sample collection and processing.
• Maintain safe work environment and adhere to biohazard waste procedures.
• Assist with clerical duties, order entry, and supply inventory management.
