Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a part-time phlebotomist in Carmel, IN. The role covers 32 hours per week, with shifts Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm, at a client site. Responsibilities include phlebotomy, patient care after draws, and accurate specimen labeling and processing.

The position requires high school diploma, phlebotomy certification or training, and preferred experience in healthcare settings; bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification through a nationally recognized organization or training from a phlebotomy school or medical institution.
• One or more years of phlebotomy experience in a healthcare setting.
• Preferred: EMR familiarity and bilingual abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and related specimen collections per age-related standards.
• Provide appropriate post-phlebotomy patient care and updates to patients.
• Identify need for physician orders and obtain required documentation.
• Label, process, and transport specimens according to protocols.
• Ensure timely communication of draws, results, and issues to client staff.
• Maintain safety, adherence to policies, and a respectful, professional demeanor.
• Travel to additional sites as needed.
