Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division is seeking a part-time janitorial associate to perform routine building cleaning and front-desk monitoring during business hours. The position requires high school diploma and at least 6 months of related experience, with a Pay rate of $12.00 per hour and up to 29 hours per week.

Responsibilities include cleaning bathrooms and floors, replacing light bulbs, assisting with maintenance, greeting customers, and preventing theft by observing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 6 months of related experience.
• Ability to be flexible and multitask across tasks.
• Basic computer skills with web-based payroll/timekeeping access.
• Knowledge of cleaning supplies and their use.
• Knowledge of standard hand tools and equipment.
• Good written and spoken communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize bathrooms.
• Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty/clean wastebaskets.
• Replace light bulbs.
• Strip, clean, buff, and seal floors.
• Wash windows inside and out.
• Maintenance of housekeeping equipment and tidy janitorial closet.
• Remove snow and debris around the building perimeter.
• Greet customers as they enter and exit the store; observe for theft.
• All other duties as assigned.
