Job summary

Finger Lakes Community College in Canandaigua, NY seeks a part-time IT A/V Services Technician to support instructional technology operations in labs and classrooms, assist with software needs and installations, and provide helpdesk coverage to faculty and students.

The role includes training users, supporting special events with A/V tech, and assisting in deploying new technologies and upgrading equipment. Occasional after-hours support is required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required.
• Experience with classroom technology and applications is desirable.
• Experience with presentation software and A/V equipment desirable.
• Experience in training instructors and staff and creating documentation desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintains functionality of instructional technology operations in labs and classrooms.
• Assists with faculty software needs, software installations, compatibility and loads.
• Plans, installs, and maintains instructional technology systems campus-wide.
• Provides helpdesk coverage and direct user/telephone support institution-wide.
• Provides user training and one-on-one consultations as needed.
• Supports special events and presentations with audio/visual tech.
• Provides after-hours instructional services for FLCC events.
• Participates in deployment of new technologies and upgrades.
• Trains, supervises, and directs student aides.
• Creates IT user documentation.
• Assists with inventory, licensing, procurement, and supplies.
