Job summary

Sylvania seeks an Aide – Basic to support instructional activities in assigned classrooms. This part-time role involves assisting teachers with lessons, supervising students, and maintaining organized materials and records.

The position requires a high school diploma and basic math/grammar knowledge, and candidates with Chinese Mandarin or Portuguese language skills are preferred. Hours are approximately 20 per week, Monday through Friday, in Utah.

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus job-related coursework.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment and software.
• Ability to support classroom instructional activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with classroom activities, assignments, and instructional materials under the direction of the supervising teacher.
• Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning concepts and assist with assignments.
• Implement instructional programs and lesson plans under teacher supervision.
• Maintain classroom work areas, equipment, and records to support instructional activities.
• Monitor students in various school settings, including classrooms, playgrounds, hallways, and lunch areas.
• Communicate with teachers and staff regarding student progress and observations.
• Report incidents involving student behavior, safety concerns, or accidents to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to emergency situations involving students and ensure appropriate assistance is provided.
• Attend meetings and training sessions related to job responsibilities.
• Support classroom teachers and school personnel with instructional and organizational tasks.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
