Job summary

Sylvania in Utah is seeking an Aide – Basic to support instructional programs in assigned classrooms. You will assist teachers with activities, work with students individually or in small groups, and help maintain classroom organization.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, the ability to follow directions, and good communication with staff. District-required annual training and mandated reporter/criminal background checks are part of the job.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate standard office equipment and software.
• Capable of preparing and maintaining accurate records.
• Supports classroom instructional activities under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist with classroom activities, assignments, and instructional materials under the supervision of the teacher.
• Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
• Implement instructional programs and lesson plans under teacher supervision.
• Maintain classroom work areas, equipment, and records to support instructional activities.
• Monitor students in classrooms, playgrounds, hallways, and lunch areas.
• Communicate with teachers and staff regarding student progress and observations.
• Report incidents involving student behavior or safety concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to emergencies involving students and ensure assistance is provided.
• Attend meetings and training sessions related to job responsibilities.
• Support teachers and school personnel with instructional and organizational tasks.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
