Job summary

USCG Base Cape Cod MWR currently seeks a Part-Time Child Care Assistant to support our Alameda CDC in Alameda, CA. This role involves assisting in daily activities, supervising children, and helping implement age-appropriate programs.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, English proficiency, and at least one year of experience with children. Physical fitness to lift and move materials, and the ability to pass background and medical clearances are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• One year of general experience with children.
• Physical ability to lift up to 45 pounds and perform related activities.
• Able to complete Tier 1 background investigation.
• Able to pass Civilian Medical Clearance.
• Two years of education above high school preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans and executes early childhood education experiences with varied materials.
• Develops age-appropriate curriculum with directors/teachers.
• Promotes positive interactions among children, youth, and adults.
• Assists in leading planned activities and daily reports.
• Maintains safety and supervises children in classroom, playground, and transit areas.
