Job summary

Marketplace Chaplains seeks a part-time chaplain to serve employees and their families remotely across client worksites. The role includes weekly site visits when possible, providing spiritual care, confidential conversations, and resource coordination in varied environments such as hospitals and offices.

The candidate will engage in ministry activities, support grief and life events, and participate in onboarding for new employees, while upholding Christian values and the mission of MCHAP

Qualifications

• Has ability to work as member of interdisciplinary group and in an interfaith setting.
• Skills to effectively listen and interact with clients, employees, and their families.
• Spiritual maturity and commitment to a Christian lifestyle.
• Diplomacy, patience, and courtesy with diverse groups; ability to maintain relationships.
• Excellent oral and written communication; manage confidentiality.
• Analytical skills to define and follow up on problems or objectives.
• Computer proficiency with Google Suites/Microsoft Office and web-based tools.
• Must have active state driver’s license and state minimum auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a messenger and conveyor of faith, mission, and purpose.
• Interacts with companies, their employees, and the community with character and spiritual disciplines.
• Regular visits to company worksites (usually weekly) to build trust and relationships.
• Provide confidential pastoral discussions for personal issues and refer to specialized resources as needed.
• May assist in planning or attending funerals and provide grief support.
• Support notifications of death and serious injuries to families and employees.
• Support post-termination care and transitions for employees.
• Assist with spiritual enrichment activities and distribute relevant resources.
• Represent ministry services to clients and participate in new employee orientation.
