Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Surgical Technologist to support perioperative teams in a high-demand setting. The role requires 40 hours per week with a schedule from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Call is required, and the pay range is $26.55 to $39.85 per hour. Certification in Surgical Technology is required, with at least one year of experience preferred. The successful candidate will assist with pre- and post-operative care, maintain sterile technique, and coordinate equipment and supplies while

Qualifications

• Education: Minimum education of a High School Diploma or GED is required. Successful completion of Surgical Technology program, either technical or military is required.
• Certification / Registration / License: Certification in Surgical Technology required.
• Work Experience: One year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency in the physical care of the patient according to CGHS/unit patient care standards, including pre and post-op care and post-mortem care.
• Utilizes effective communication and interpersonal skills with the health care team and patients.
• Demonstrates organizing skills: time management, prioritization, and responsive to physician/nurse/anesthesia requests.
• Participates in maintaining supplies, equipment and pod cleanliness and reports faulty equipment.
• Demonstrates self-growth and accountability by participating in quality assurance activities and unit meetings.
