Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Surgical Tech to assist in pre- and post-operative patient care on a 7a-3p schedule. The role requires certification in Surgical Technology and completion of a surgical tech program, with duties spanning patient prep, instrument setup, and intraoperative support.

40 hours/week schedule, call required, benefits eligible. Responsibilities include ensuring patient safety, maintaining sterile fields, and supporting the surgical team through efficient room

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of Surgical Technology program required.
• Certification in Surgical Technology required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency in pre- and post-operative patient care according to unit standards.
• Assists with patient positioning and transfers; maintains a safe environment.
• Performs basic instrument setup and assists peri-operative team.
• Assists with infection control, isolation procedures and specimen handling.
• Maintains timely communication with care team and physicians.
• Participates in maintaining supplies and equipment, restocking as needed.
