Qualifications

• Associate degree in clinical laboratory science or medical laboratory technology is required.
• Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science or medical technology is preferred.
• MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), or MLT(ASCP) certification or equivalent is required.
• Laboratory experience is preferred.
• Must understand specimen requirements, lab terminology, assay schedules and turnaround times; able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Keyboarding skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and complex laboratory analyses.
• Identifies and solves problems; proposes alternatives.
• Maintains currency in laboratory theory and technique; participates in continuing education.
• Provides instruction for students and new associates.
• Performs quality control procedures and analyzes results to implement corrective actions.
• Accurately collects blood specimens by venipuncture or skin puncture within scope of training.
• Operates, maintains, and repairs laboratory equipment and performs routine preventative maintenance.
