Job summary

Blue Ridge Community College (BRCC) is seeking a part-time CDL Truck Driving Instructor to train weekday, nonexempt personnel in Class A CDL instruction. The role involves work in the Shenandoah Valley campus setting and requires compliance with DOT guidelines. Orientation and training are provided.

The position is limited to 1500 hours per year with no benefits; candidates should be prepared for occasional travel and ongoing review of qualifications and responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Class A CDL with full background check and driving record check.
• Knowledge of the commercial driving industry and DMV/DOT regulations.
• Good verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist with training of commercial driving students to earn Class A CDL.
• May assist with Class B instruction.
• Comply with DOT drug testing and medical certification requirements.
• Complete orientation and training as provided for all new instructors.
