Qualifications

• CDL driver with endorsement for driving a passenger vehicle (P) required
• School bus (S) endorsement preferred
• Age 21-80 years; drivers above 75 must submit CDL documentation annually
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations in last 5 years
• Background check through LifeWise Academy
• Drug and/or alcohol testing required (pre-employment, annual random, post-accidents)
• Annual Physician's Statement for drivers with medical conditions

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site
• Obey traffic laws
• Maintain the bus cleanliness and mechanical safety
• Perform regular bus inspections
• Refuel the vehicle as needed
• Enforce safety rules for students
• Assist students with entering or exiting the vehicle
• Demonstrate a calm and caring demeanor
• Be aware of students needing help or who are misbehaving
• Complete required LifeWise Academy training
• Volunteer in LifeWise classroom if permitted by the director
