Job summary

Barnes & Noble College is seeking a Part-Time Supervisor to lead daily store operations, deliver an exceptional customer experience, and support campus community engagement. You will coach team members, manage day-to-day tasks, and uphold a safe, organized store environment.

The role requires reliable, flexible scheduling year-round and offers opportunities to contribute to a vibrant campus store experience for students, faculty, and alumni.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• 2+ years of retail experience preferred.
• Ability to work varied schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to coach, motivate, and provide direction to team members.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example on the sales floor through exceptional customer service and coaching of team members.
• Assist with opening/closing duties and act as Manager-on-Duty when assigned.
• Assign work, monitor progress, and reinforce daily priorities and standards.
• Maintain knowledge of all store departments to assist customers and support teams.
• Resolve customer questions with professionalism and escalate when needed.
• Support onboarding and training of new team members and reinforce policies.
• Assist with merchandising, inventory, replenishment, POS transactions and other store ops.
