You will work a year-round schedule with evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, partnering with store leaders and teammates to support campus life and education. This role emphasizes customer service, teamwork, and daily operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Previous retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating a positive shopping experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with customers and teammates.
• Basic math, keyboarding, and data entry skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and adapt to changing business needs in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule year-round, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak business periods, based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide friendly, knowledgeable service.
• Assist customers in locating course materials, school supplies, apparel, gifts, and more.
• Operate the point-of-sale system and process transactions accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked sales floor.
• Support daily store operations with inventory, receiving merchandise, and order fulfillment.
• Develop product knowledge about merchandise, promotions, and store services.
• Collaborate with teammates to meet daily priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Contribute to a clean, safe, and organized store that reflects the Barnes & Noble College brand.
