Job summary

The University of the Virgin Islands is seeking a Cook to support daily meal preparation and food service operations in the campus kitchen. This role follows established menus, adheres to dietary standards, and ensures food safety and sanitation.

The position is part-time, with duties including preparation, cooking, maintaining clean work areas, monitoring inventory, and assisting with catering requests as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of kitchen experience.
• ServSafe Food Handler certification or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to follow instructions and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to daily menus and directions from lead chef.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment and work areas.
• Monitor inventory and assist with storage and rotation.
• Follow safety and health guidelines per DOH and ServSafe standards.
• Assist with catering requests and special events as needed.
