Job summary

Sodexo Group is seeking a Cook at Ottawa Township High School District 140 in Ottawa, IL. The role involves preparing, portioning, cooking, and presenting a variety of hot and cold foods for all meals and events, in a fast-paced kitchen while following Sodexo culinary standards and safety practices.

The position is part-time with weekdays morning and afternoon/evening shifts. Candidates should have a High School diploma or equivalent and up to 2 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good working knowledge of food preparation.
• Requires familiarity of kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food in accordance with current applicable standards to ensure high-quality service.
• Follow recipes and product directions for preparing and serving a variety of foods.
• Estimate food requirements and check production to plan production and requisition supplies.
• Significant walking or other mobility.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds.
• Attend shifts on time and perform other duties as needed.
