Job summary

Chamberlain College of Nursing seeks a Part-Time Clinical Nursing Faculty to mentor BSN students in an inpatient clinical setting in the Des Moines area. Teaching with a BSN program, this role connects classroom learning to real patient care on-site, with no prior teaching experience required beyond solid clinical experience and an MSN.

Scheduling is session-based: typically 3–4 consecutive 12-hour shifts over 1–2 weeks per session, and dates are not guaranteed for every session.

Qualifications

• Master's or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
• An unencumbered RN nursing license in Iowa.
• Illinois RN license will be required to teach all courses (prioritized for IL-licensed instructors).
• Active BLS certification (American Heart Association/AHA, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network).
• At least two years of professional instructional experience as a registered nurse within the last five years.

Responsibilities

• Teaching and Curriculum Implementation: Implement the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service.
• Student Evaluation and Support: Develop and post written clinical assignments, provide feedback, and assist remediation as needed.
• Clinical Coordination: Orient to site policies, post assignments, and maintain visibility at the clinical site.
• Program and College Development: Contribute to ongoing development, implement assessments, and support campus policies.
• Professionalism and Collaboration: Serve as a professional role model and work to improve student satisfaction and operations.
• Regulatory Compliance and Reporting: Comply with regulatory rules, inform the course coordinator of issues, and report to the dean.
• Handle related duties as assigned and comply with policies.
