Job summary

Chamberlain University seeks a Part-Time Clinical Nursing Instructor to mentor BSN students in inpatient clinical settings in the Des Moines, IA area. You will bridge classroom learning with real-world patient care, teaching nursing skills and providing direct supervision.

No teaching experience is required, but solid clinical experience with an MSN is encouraged. Scheduling follows 8-week sessions with 3–4 consecutive 12-hour shifts per session.

Qualifications

• Master's or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Unencumbered RN license in Iowa; Illinois RN license required to teach all courses.
• Active BLS certification (American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network).
• At least two years professional experience within last five years in the area of instruction as a registered nurse.
• May teach simulation/skills lab and/or didactic course content under supervision of course coordinator.

Responsibilities

• Teaching and curriculum implementation across the BSN Nursing program.
• Plan clinical experiences and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students.
• Develop and post written clinical assignments consistent with students' knowledge base and learning needs.
• Evaluate and provide remediation of students as required or needed.
• Coordinate with clinical sites and maintain site policies; contribute to program and college development.
