Job summary

Public Health, Delta & Menominee Counties is seeking a part-time Breastfeeding Peer Counselor for the WIC Program. The Peer Counselor provides basic breastfeeding information, encouragement, and support to pregnant and breastfeeding clients as they begin and continue breastfeeding.

The paraprofessional role supports families in the WIC program and requires attendance at state trainings or conferences. A high school diploma and a valid Michigan driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Personal breastfeeding experience is required.
• Current or former WIC client preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to attend state-required training sessions and conferences.
