Job summary

Red Rooster Café is seeking a part-time Prep Cook/Kitchen Assistant to support and often lead the preparation of made-to-order breakfast and lunch items, including egg biscuits, soups, salads, and sandwiches. You will also manage storage, equipment, and kitchen cleanliness in a fast-paced environment, under the café manager's guidance.

The role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions, and strict adherence to health and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Experience in baking and basic cooking tasks.
• Ability to read and follow house recipes precisely.
• Excellent communication and teamwork under pressure.
• Able to stand for long periods and work at a fast pace.

Responsibilities

• Open kitchen early (as early as 6 am) and weekends.
• Maintain clean, organized workstations and sanitation practices.
• Wash, prep, and store dishes and ingredients properly.
• Prepare breakfast and lunch items per recipes quickly.
• Assist with deliveries and stocking of ingredients.
