Job summary

Linn-Benton Community College (LBCC) seeks a pooled Part-time Biological Sciences Instructor to develop and present lectures and labs in alignment with approved outcomes. The instructor will attach transcripts and follow department procedures to ensure quality teaching and assessment.

Responsibilities include preparing materials, grading, maintaining records, and collaborating with staff to support student success and equity in the classroom. Ongoing professional development is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in biological sciences or related field, or equivalent.
• Provisional option with bachelor’s degree and 27 graduate hours.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities aligned to LBCC teaching standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and develop materials for classes using approved outcomes.
• Complete administrative tasks: grade work, communicate with students, maintain records.
• Stay current with subject developments and educational technology.
• Maintain equity and inclusivity in the classroom.
• Ensure lab safety and proper equipment use.
• Promote LBCC’s mission and connect students to services.
• Collaborate with diverse students and staff.
• Participate in department and advisory meetings.
