Job summary

Linn-Benton Community College is seeking qualified part-time faculty for a pooled pool to teach courses as openings arise. Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis to build a ready pool of candidates for immediate review when needs appear.

Responsibilities include preparing course materials, managing coursework, maintaining student records, and ensuring alignment with department outcomes. Employment is contingent on background checks and residency requirements.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in political science or related field.
• 27 graduate quarter hours in the primary field to be taught or equivalent.
• Provisional: bachelor’s plus 27 graduate quarter hours and active pursuit of a master’s/doctorate.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and develop materials for classes utilizing approved course outcomes in various teaching modalities.
• Complete administrative tasks: assign and grade work, communicate with students, report outcomes, maintain records.
• Promote equity and inclusivity, connect students to college support services, and collaborate with staff and supervisors.

Education

Master's degree in political science or related field

27 graduate quarter hours in primary field or equivalency

Bachelor’s degree + 27 graduate hours in field(s) for provisional
